Being Missional and Having Fun Doing It

Last September I took a rode trip from Portland, OR. to Minneapolis, Minn. with two dear brothers to attend a conference about two of my favorite topics: postmodernism and Jesus. At this conference I was able to hang out with a handful of Acts 29 pastors as well being blessed to hear three of my favorite speakers alive today, John Piper, Tim Keller, and Mark Driscoll. I was like a little kid in a candy shop… and to think that I got in for free to this sold out conference and all I had to do in exchange was to stand at the Acts 29 booth and tell young guys about what it takes to be a church planter with our network. God did some tremendous things during that trip, and I am so thankful to my beloved wife for kicking me out the door to go despite having just given birth to our daughter a couple of weeks earlier.
Desiring God who hosted the conference has recently posted the video for the conference sessions and I would highly recomend all of the sessions. My favorite, which is linked below is Pastor Mark Driscoll’s message. Its like a punch between the eyes that will make you cry while you’re at the same time rolling on the floor laughing. If your connection is fast enough, its worth it to watch the video rather than just hear the audio.
